Actually, I don't understand the meaning of the sentence in question.
Could you give me a little bit more explanation, please?

the basic idea is to know that the structure of S+ would rather+ O+ simple past is to describe a demand/ order/ preference, etc ....
The sentence means: some guests want the hotel to provide rooms that blah blah

hi laxie,

Can you pls let me know from where did you get that concept of generalization ? Why is the present tense in B wrong ?

the basic idea is to know that the structure of S+ would rather+ O+ simple past is to describe a demand/ order/ preference, etc ....

Can you please provide links - pointers to learn about such structures.

Thanks

Hotel is singular and therefore we need a singular verb. Eliminate B and E. I believe the present tenses is better than the past. Eliminate D. Between A and C, I pick C.

Re: Some of the hotel guests would rather the hotel provides [#permalink]
Definitely D

hotel-singular so B and E are OUT
Continuous tense so, C OUT
We r left with A Nd D. D sounds to be correct answer.
