What should I do

Hi Hjort
I am in need of some qualified advice regarding the decision to pursue an MBA.
I am a civil/environmental engineer. I graduated from University of Houston where this is a combo program and you must get both degrees. I graduated in 3.5yrs; however, I only have a 3.0 GPA because of the rush to graduate and I worked full time. All through school I worked for my father who owns his own real estate investment firm.
After I graduated with my degree I worked with The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company (they are the number one retail Builder in the country) where I helped head the building of a JCPenney ($5,300,000 project).
At this time I am leaving The Whiting-Turner contracting company to go back take over my father firm. It is $10 million firm that I wish to expand to focus on upcoming sectors of real estate, such as commercial land development. I do not intend to enter the corporate world, rather pursue my father’s venture.
I would like an answer to several questions:
1. Given my future goals, will an MBA provide me with a substantial benefit?
2. Which specializations would you recommend that I look into? Can you name some schools that are well-known for these specializations? I would prefer to stay in the Southwest region, but am willing to moving if the opportunity warrants it.
3. Can my relatively low GPA be overshadowed by quality work experience and a strong GMAT score (if so how high a score)?
Your advice on this matter would be invaluable.
Thanks
