If c and d are both positive integers greater than 1 and c^d = (1/c)^3d-8, what is the value of c^d?

(1) c=4
(2) d=c^0.5

We are c^d = (1/c)^3d-8... c^4d-8=1
thus 4d-8=0 d=2
St1..gives us value of C we can find c^d -..suff
st2 ..gives us the value of C we can c^d--suf

Thus answer is D

yogeshsheth, in your computation you equated 4d-8 to 0. But you can also equate it to any number since 1 raised to any number is still 1.

Hermione its given that c and d are numbers and greater than 1. So
if x>1 then only x^0=1.
Thus have equated 4d-8=0.
