Some Last-Minute Advice for Quant

Hi, gang...test is on Friday morning, and I think I'm ALMOST ready.
The verbal is pretty well wrapped up - I scored in the 97% on the last verbal practice exam from GMAC, and had 22 minutes left on the clock.
Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the math. Basically, if I shut the timer off I do ok - 90% or so. But picking up the pace is tricky, and I tend to be all over the place with the score, anywhere from 35 (yikes!) to 85%.
Essentially, I understand the concepts, but I sometimes go off in the wrong direction, and then waste time until I realize where I went wrong and go back to make the correction.
My thought is that I probably need to pay more attention to the clock, and limit myself to about 2 minutes per problem. If I can't get it, I just need to move on. If I'm wrong, an easier (and faster) question will come next. What do you all think of this strategy? Any other ideas on how to increase my tempo and/or manage the clock?
thanks so much!
