Then I think if your 2nd LOR is from current employer who can vouch for your work and job related growth and responsibilities they would supplement each other nicely. But def. get a second opinion.

I don't think I clarified enough, I've already turned in my application with two recs. I just read about how they accept new letters for people on the waitlist so I wasn't sure if they would accept them for people who have already turned in their apps and are pending decisions.

I say do it as long as your friend says all the right things. Such as showing how well you would fit in with the program. It really can't hurt; I only see an upside to this. Just my 2 cents..
