when did you submit...i got my decision in 2 days after "complete" status..Mine went to "under review" status on Dec 27 and I submitted on Dec 06.

Let's see, submitted on 1/8, complete on 1/22, invite on 2/16, interviewed on 2/26, complete on 2/28. Don't know if that means it's already gone to committee, or if it still needs to go to more readers. It seems like people on BW that have interviewed in the last week or so have heard in about a week. I'm nervous and excited. I just hope it's not WL. I mean, WL is better than a ding, but I don't know if I could stand sitting around waiting more with no end in sight.

you are scared of one WL..and here I am with two WL in a row now... :(

So I got the interview last night and my status went complete this morning. Hope not to wait too long for a decision.

The interviewer is really nice. He asked me some basic and familiar questions: why MBA, why Columbia, leadership skills, extra curricular, etc. Then most of the time was spent on analyzing my porfolio of schools, weighing Columbia, Wharton and Chicago GSB, with a conclusion that Columbia is the best in my porfolio and I should choose to go there if admitted to all of the schools.

DJM, have you got an invite yet? Best of luck.

Nemo,

Good to know that your interview went well. I sure you get the Admit email next week!

No reply for me yet. Still waiting for the Gods to smile. My essays were very good, better that Wharton and I got a Wharton invite.

I am not giving up hope. I figure thats the least I can do.

Hi All,

I have been put on the WL and am curious as to how CBS's WL works. I am half a world away and can't visit the campus. I have also just submitted my app in Jan and can't exactly see how I could demonstrate that I have strengthened my application over the last 1.5 months. Any advice from anyone here? Thanks in advance!

D@mn, this thread is deader than a doorknob as well. No good news for me, I've been put on the WL. D@MN IT, I knew that this was going to happen. In fact, during my interview, my interviewer actually said "I'm going to write you a great recommendation and I definitely think that you'll be a great fit at Columbia, but they tend to admit people from more diverse backgrounds during this round." He went on to suggest that if they didn't admit me I should look into the January option starting next year, or applying in the ED round; he though I'd be a prime candidate for those rounds.

I actually don't think the chances for getting off the WL are good this year, so I'm not holding my breath. I wish I could have been ready to apply ED this year; RD at Columbia is pretty tough. Oh well, doesn't hurt to dream a little I guess.

Who else has completed their interview? I had mine two weeks ago and my status has not changed. I'm getting a bit worried, given that it took two days for Pelihu's status to go to complete after the interview.

Peli -

I am surprised to hear that. But a WL isn't an immediate death-knell, and there're other decisions on the horizon. Keep us posted.

I haven't even heard from them, applied 12/29, went complete 1/16, total dead silence since then, I guess it is sitting in pile of dings.

If pelihu gets WL, I stand no chance. But then it is all random !!

WL is a pian but still better than a ding. I am surprised that you did not get in given Columbia's rep. for valuing GMATS. Good luck - don't loose hope! ...Is there a date by which you will know the final decision?

That sucks dude. Goodluck with the WL. I havent even received an interview call yet, and I thought CL was my best shot.

Have they given you any timeframe on a definitive decision?

Pelihu,

Sorry to hear about the WL.....we are in the same boat. It suxs not knowing when you would hear from them and I am getting no feedback from my WL manager on what caused the WL. Good luck to the both of us.

Thanks guys, unfortunately, Columbia is really tough, especially so during the RD round. My interviewer suggested a number of times that it would be particularly tough for someone of my demographic (Chinese, male), and I imagine that it is even though for Indians at this point. He seemed to have the clear belief that Columbia does in fact like high GMAT scores, but that they tend to admit these types during ED; and that they used the RD round to fill out the class.

Anyhow, WL is a small consolation I guess, though it probably just means waiting several more months before final rejection. Nothing more than luck at this point, if a spot happens to open and they need someone with exactly my profile. Columbia and NYC would have been great, but I'm going to start making other plans going forward.

Good luck to those still waiting.

Pelihu, I'm surprised to hear your result and begin losing confidence on my applications as well.

It's good that you are not losing your way and are planning for the next race. "Don't let schools get in our education!" I forgot who said that, but just don't lose your way because of these obstacles.

Best of luck.
