I got slightly confused while attempting this question because of the language - it wasn't clear in 1 read whether the same baker is baking both scones or croissants or it's separate bakers altogether.

1,200 croissants / 48* = 25

1440 scones / 24** = 60

Total = 85 (C)

*1 baker in 1 shift can make 48 croissants = 6 croissants per hour x 8 hours
** 1 baker in 1 shift can make 24 scones = 3 scones per hour x 8 hours

Yes, even I got confused for the same thing. GMATNinja - Can you please help how do we understand whether it is the same baker wokring or we have two different bakers here?

for 8 hr shift: 60hrs req

Man req=85

Question should define if this is parallel baking or sequential baking

Fair enough! You can think of it as a completely separate set of bakers for simplicity, and I just edited the question to make that clearer.

I hope that helps a bit, and sorry for the confusion!
