Has anyone received a confirmation e-mail for the Chicago GSB Live event?
I haven't received anything and that makes me a little uneasy.

I wouldnt worry. As I recall, they didnt send out confirmation emails last year either. Worst case, if you are worried, jut call the admissions office and confirm.

If I go, I'll be there Thursday for Kellogg. But right now due to work (not letting me take off Thursday-Friday), I only have a 10% chance of visiting that weekend... =(

Most like November 5th time-frame if I am to visit.

I can imagine the confused look when I ask everyone visiting if they are on gmatclub.

How about we all just agree to meet at a specific location at the GSB on the morning of the 28th? I'll know my schedule by the end of this week and can plan around that.

hijacking the thread once again, but can u answer this for me.
Chicago is accepting only online recommendations.. right?

I called up admissions office and they told me that they will accept regular mail recommendation letters. I specifically asked that coz someone told me that they were still doing it. I double checked and the lady told me "Sir, I will repeat once again. We do accept recommendation letters by regular mail."

so my question is is chicago unofficially taking in reco letters by regular mail? Can someone please verify it for me. I feel like a fool asking this but I am totally confused with what is written on Chicago's website and what the admission person told me over the phone

One of my recommenders is so lazythat he does not want to do it online. He prefers just signing a document and handing it to me. If Chicago accepts recommendation letter format and in mail.. then its bliss for me.
Else its another logistical headache.

Someone please enlighten me..

The answer should be yes (I know that with the internet issues in asia after the earthquake that came up some people had to mail things in)... in general, trust what the woman told you. Odds are, its simply that they would prefer an online submission but would accept a non-online version. Not everyone in the world has internet access.

Wait a day or two, call back and double check - dont give them your name, just ask again... In the mean time, I'll see if I cant stop by the office and ask them.

I just emailed GSB to cancel my registration :( I'll probably try to visit Chicago the weekend of 11/3 if time permits. Then I can hit Kellogg and Chicago in one sitting!

dosa_don,

I decided to visit Michigan's event on the 27th instead of Kellogg's. I will remove my name from the Kellogg's list.

Rhyme,

I think meeting up before the event is a great idea. Any suggestions on the palce?

Based on the sample schedule posted on the GSB's website, the event starts at 9AM. I think we are supposed to receive a confirmation of the agenda though...

I doubt the actual time will change... I'll talk to admissions today if I can, but otherwise, I'd say 8.30am in front of the trading booth / student lounge? (I'll know for sure if that makes sense in a day or two once my schedule is finalized)

As to the other question: You can send in a non-electronic rec. No problem. I checked for you.
