How's it goin' everyone,
I recently graduated from the Univ. of Virginia with a weak gpa (we're talkin' like 2.7), since I kept tryin' to incorporate way too many co-curricular activities as well (and my work ethic was lacking)...however, since then, I've been on a roll, gettin' the chance to be the Senior Outsourcing Project Manager at a great DC Mortgage Banking Firm...Granted I've only been workin' for 2 months so far, I'm aimin' to apply to B-School when I have about 2 years of experience...well, to cut this short, i know I can do well on the GMAT, but I'm thinkin' of applyin' to the part-time programs of the top 20 b-schools, cause I'm not sure if I can get into the normal day programs, even with a great GMAT score (700+) since my GPA sucked. Can someone please give me some more info on that route, because I'm not sure if you can transfer into a normal day program after a year of goin' part-time...i know that not all the top 20 b-school's offer part-time programs (and in those cases i'm goin' to need to definitely kicK some major GMAT butt), but for those that do, is it a feasible way to go?
Thanks,
At this stage there is a lot you can do to remedy your undergrad GPA and show what you can do when motivated:
1) Earn a high GMAT
2) Take some classes and earn A's to create an alternative transcript.
3) Progress rapidly at work.
If you do the above, you will definitely have a chance at top twenty programs. Furthermore, schools don't like it andwill reject you , if they think you are simply using the part-time program as a back door into the full time program.

Applying with a low GPA/GMAT."
Good luck!
