I can totally relate to that. My GMATprep score was like 760, and 750. But the actual test I got 650.

well good thing is gmac captures numbers and percentile so any big changes will be evident in one or the other!

Well, I'm not sure we can rely on the small sample we have available on GMAT club to make such an inference. I think Gprep should be used as prepatory material only and not so much as a indicator of the actual score you will receive. If you are comfortable with all the concepts that are covered in the official materials you should be prepared to do well on the test.

Also, according to their press releases, GMAC has known about scoretop for years. If they were going to change anything that drastically, surely they would inform test takers and the changes would be reflected in their new diagnostic software. It seems counterproductive to release a new product (focus, I believe it's called) only to have it not contain concepts currently tested on the exam.

I took it two weeks ago and got a 740. I thought GMATPrep and MGMAT were spot on. I don't think anything has changed about the test...just be prepared, be confident, and work out the nerves during the AWA.

After having taken the GMAT, I like to compare it to running. Run more than you need to on race day, know that you're ready, and be careful what you eat the night before :-D

Hi highhopes, Congrat on the great score!

That is encouraging to us too!

Could you explain more on this: "and work out the nerves during the AWA"?

I got 680 and 710 on my two gmatpreps but ended with a 600 on the real one with 28V. But I guess the low verbal was more down to my carelessness than to anything else but oh yes, the score was a HUGE shock and totally out of the blue.

I got 640 like 6 months ago but I think another variable to consider is the percentile figure. Just curious what was your percentile in Q & V and all together?

Is it the verbal section that makes most people bomb the GMAT? It definitely looks like it reading this and other forums.

That's the kind of thing that I did not want to happen right before I take the test. :?

I'm taking the gmat on Monday. I'll post my test score and gmat prep scores.
