Hi, I am going through the OG and was wondering if this was a mistake? The question is:

When 1/10 percent of 5,000 is subtracted from 1/10 of 5,000, the difference is

(A) 0
(B) 50
(C) 450
(D) 495
(E) 500

Wouldn't both of those numbers be 500-500=0, or am I missing something here?

u have missed the missing part  !!

When 1/10 percent of 5,000 is subtracted from 1/10 of 5,000

1/10 *5000 - 1/10 * 1/100 * 5000 =500-50 =450

I am getting C too

1/10*(5000) - (.1)% *5000 = 500 - (0.1/100) *(5000) = 500 - 5 = 495

I think you added on extra zero in 50. It should be 500-5 = 495.
