And never before have I seen so many (presumably) straight men go on and on about their clothes.

Frankly, it's a wonder I manage to put on pants every morning.

my apologies to bigbad and to ellebee. we never really put forth clear guidelines for moderators, so it is our fault.

If i have to move threads and was not sure, i try to let the author know first, wait for their reply, seek their approval and then make the decision. a moderator facilitates and enables cooperation. the less power you are seen using, the more effective and respected you will be.

all of us men need to stay the hell out of this thread unless your comments are relevant to the subject. try and not be bitchslapped on the last day of the year.

best wishes.

I think the term is "metro-sexual".....

I bought a wknd bag that kinda looks like large women's shoulder bag.

I've been carrying it on my shoulder ever since......so comfy....hence my obsession with Cole Haan bag

Re: Handbag question... [#permalink]
I wouldnt worry about handbags...go with something simple and not too labeled. IE get a coach bag of solid leather not with the printed logos everywhere. If you are interviewed by a guy he probably will be clueless, if you show up with a fendi bag and are being interviewed by a woman who isnt into fashion it could work against you as she might form a negative opinion of you. Thats why I think like with all things business related, understated is far better.

Guys dont complain about this being here considering we talk about guy stuff here all the time. Moving this to off topic is relegating it to a waste land on these forums.

Elle,

I love the Bayswater bag- think it is classic and you should definitely go for it :) I used the black one in university for my books and it was perfect.

If you want to do lux. goods I don't see why you wouldn't have a nice bag, the Mulberry is understated enough and doesn't have flashy logos.

Thanks Praetorian and everyone else! My comments were only half serious, but I do think women should feel comfortable discussing our specific issues in this forum. Granted, handbags are not as serious as say, balancing a ticking biological clock with a career... but yall get my point :-P

Oh please, and the looooong thread about which school had the hottest wife/girlfriend/hookup potential wasn't off topic? At least we're talking about interview cloths, which is very stressful for women!

And for the record it's clear that whichever school ElleBee, jlola21, AC, and BigBad wind up at is going to be the school with the hot women.

Agreed! There have been plenty of threads for male clothing and interview clothing is just as stressful for women...especially since there seem to be fewer available opinions.

About the top to wear with a suit...I usually go with more of shell or blouse style. And of course, a handbag doesn't have to be super-pricey to be appropriate (I just like Mulberry bags!). As long as it's professional looking it's fine. No one's going to price your handbag or think less of you because of what you spent on it (and if they do...that would be inappropriate and weird).

And yes, it sounds like wherever we ladies head to business school we'll be in good fashion company! :)

Thanks, Praet! I appreciate it! It's nice to discuss this with other women and interested men.
