Hello Paul,
I've submitted an application for the FT program to a couple of b-schools in the US, and was considering a few others. I was hoping I could get help regarding my chances at schools I am targeting.
My profile:
Indian
Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecom (top 10% of class)
GMAT - 710 (Q-48 V-40) TOEFL:113
IT - 4 years in Financials and 1 year in Retail (US Retail Chain)
Worked for Goldman Sachs for 2.5 years in Asset management and am working for RBS in the exotics interest rates department.
I have had decent leadership experience, at Goldman and now at RBS. Ran a few critical business projects across Asia/Europe and North America for the asset management business at GS. Now I lead a team of 5 individuals and work with the exotic rates middle office of RBS.
I also started a IT consulting firm, and have roped in a couple of clients for my firm. Also worked for strategic initiatives at the all-India level with my father who is heading a national level organization in the telecommunications sector.
Extra-curricular activities: Not too bad
1. Involved in a lot of sports throughout my life, school/college/work.
2. Ran a few programs in a small organization at GS.
3. Work with a few charitable organizations and have organized events for GS employees to participate in.
That pretty much sums it up.
I am looking to kick start a career in strategy consulting, as my father has a strategy consulting firm which i'd like to join going forward. He and his partners have great connectivity but are unable to devote enough time to it. I want to get some international experience before getting on-board.
I have already applied to UNC and Kelley, and am looking at Duke and Kellogg in the second round.
What do you think are my chances? Do you suggest any other schools I apply to?
Looking forward to your reply.
Best Regards
