Logically, Yale SOM will provide better opportunity for NYC finance jobs. But I sense from your post, that Duke has an intangible draw for you. We make a lot of choices in our lives that don’t make logical sense, but they make us happy, sky diving for example.

Maybe you should think about it like this. If you were accepted at Duke and Yale straight up, which one would you pick?

You're right. I loved the campus, the people, the interview, and the area. Another reason is that my firm (large I-bank) doesn't recruit at Yale for Sales & Trading, but heavily recruits at Duke. I don't believe this is the case across the industry, but obviously it has some influence on me.

I would go with Yale. I believe it has the better reputation in NYC and the brand would be an asset in the long term when you try to land your 2nd & 3rd post MBA jobs.
