Difference between Manhattan GMAT 3rd and 4th Edition Books (what's changed)The content included in the Fourth Edition Strategy Guides is very similar to the Third Edition with the key differences being the following:
- The Third Edition Guides are built around the 11th Edition Official Guide, while the Fourth Edition Guides are built around the 12th Edition Official Guide. This has required us to revise the problem sets at the end of each Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guide so the question numbers correspond to the appropriate problems in the new Official Guide.
- Note that much of the 12th Edition is completely unchanged from the 11th Edition. Only 1/3 of the questions (approximately 300 problems) in the 12th Edition are new, but many have been reordered / renumbered. View Manhattan GMAT's in-depth examination of the 12th Edition.
- Additionally, in the Fourth Edition Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guides, the Advanced Content has been moved to the back of the books. We believe it is more appropriate for students to begin by learning the basics and then progress to the more advanced content when ready. It can be daunting to see some of the more complex content early on in your studies.

Manhattan GMAT guidebooks?
- The cost for the
Manhattan GMAT Books is around $120 on Amazon; it includes 8 books (5 math and 3 verbal) as well as additional exercises for each of the books and 6 adaptive tests.
2. How do I get access to the additional practice material and 6 online CAT tests?
There is a unique code printed on the back cover every
MGMAT Book that gives you 1-year access to the
MGMAT online tests (same tests for anybook) and also provides access to additional quizzes (these vary depending on each book).
3. Which
Manhattan GMAT guidebooks come with 6 online adaptive tests?
- Every
MGMAT book comes with access to 6 online CAT's - they are the same, so if you buy several books, you get access to the same 6 tests; you will have one year after registration to use the tests.
4. I have
Manhattan GMAT 3rd edition books - should I buy the 4th edition? Is it worth it?
- No, there is not that much difference between the two; see the first paragraph above for description
5. What is the difference between 2nd and 4th editions?
- There was a decent amount of updating between the 2nd and 3rd editions, although the test itself didn't change in any big way, so the 2nd edition stuff isn't obsolete. The difference between 3rd and 4th is simply that the 3rd uses OG11 and the 4th uses OG12. (source:
