What is the best way to problem solving approach? Most of the time goes on thinking? What is the best way to utilize short time for this?

Any suggestions?

Best way is to spend sufficient time learning all the basics of Problem Solving.

By say 5-15 days max you need to be able to remember all sub topics.

It takes time so dont panic if you found yourself forgetting some formulas or anything after some days, i would suggest you work more on Data Sufficiency DS which will help you more than PS Problem Solving.

If you want to do better on problem solving, you have to think smarter. Do some practice questions and focus on explanations. One good source is www.gmatpill.com, get their Problem Solving Pill. They are on the home page of GMAT Club but don't see them in the tutor or courses section up above. My friend went from low 600 to 750, geez on his second gmat test after studying gmatpill.

I think time and energy is the biggest sacrifice for studying the gmat. Reading forums is great, but geez, just one question takes a long time. Effective studying..that's what we all want. And convenient too.

You have to understand the fundamentals really well and then get some practice under your belt. GMAT is not so much about understanding difficult concepts but rather about your ability (hence you need to practice) to utilize easy principals in solving GMAT problems in a limited time frame. By understanding fundamentals I mean ability to see connections and understand why these principles work.
