Wouldn't a better ranking consider the size of the school as well? Maybe something like % of graduates who are CEOs? Otherwise it's not really surprising that big schools, with tens of thousands of graduates each year, are so well represented in the list.

Well the school of hard knocks has the greatest enrollment for sure. Harvard has a very small enrollment but has a huge advantage in many ways. No, I would not have expected Wisconsin, Indiana and Purdue to be on the top ten even with their huge enrollments. I think that Michigan and Ohio State have bigger enrollments. Actually Purdue is number nine but OSU and MSU are the biggest big ten schools. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_la ... enrollment

It is clearly one condition but size of school is not the whole nut.

Interesting find. I will give kudos.

University of Hard Knocks = Idiomatic expression meaning did not complete college studies.

I'd be interested to see it rearranged by their company's stats, like market cap or share price or credit rating... or CEO turnover, something more meaningful that "is a CEO." I don't care if HBS pumps out more CEOs, I care if it's pumping out quality CEOs and quality* businesspeople.

*the definition of quality will change from person to person

I agree dalmba. This is a good start and starts to address a subject I raised earlier, which is what is the value of a degree. Obviously where these same people got their MBA would be somewhat relevant, though I have a relative that had a rapid rise in the business world. She did that coming from a complete no name undergrad program and then got the MBA from the top tier when she could have probably bought a building.

If my comments were helpful to you, please give kudos.

What? What does University of California represent? Is that Berkeley, Los Angeles or the entire system? Same with all the state programs. There are multiple University of Missouris, University of Texases, University of Wisconsins, Indiana Universities and Purdue Universities.

Usually when they put University of California, they are talking about the flagship school, which in this case would be Berkley.

I'll definitely agree that, for all the other schools, I would assume they were talking about the flagship campus. However, that isn't generally the case, in my experience, with the California school systems. I personally have never seen or heard Berkeley referred to as "University of California." It's always, as far as I can recall, "University of California: Berkeley," "UC Berkeley," "Berkeley," or "Cal," when used in a DI sporting context. You'd have to say that UCLA is at least a dual flagship with UC-Berkeley, and there are at least four or five other top-tier universities in the UC system that warrant distinction.

Have you really ever seen the Berkeley campus referred to as "The University of California"?
