Re: Compare Kaplan Online test score [#permalink]
I have found the kaplan tests to be a bit harder and not as consistent
My gmat baseline was 650 46q 37v with absolutely no studying

after a month of studying did 1st kaplan 630 q44 v34, it felt a lot harder than the gmat prep

2nd one was after studying quant for a month straight and going through the whole quant section in two books, kaplan and og.
I got a 680 q49 v33, this felt good because i had significantly improved my quant to where i wanted it to be and I didn't expect the verbal to go up much because i haven't really started to study it.

Just took 3rd one today and got a 610! q41 v31, it felt incredibly difficult compared to the other tests, and I was no less prepared, actually more so because i have been studying verbal for the last week

I am also planning to take the 3rd Kaplan Test.

I am taking MGMAT this friday and then take GMAT PREP ! (ETS) on Tuesday.
Before that doing CR of verbal

Today I have taken 3rd Kaplan CAT test..scored 690 (Q52 & V 31)
though last Tuesday I wrote GMAT Powerprep 1st test, got a bad 650 (q48, v 31)

I have improved my quants from earlier tests, but I think if I can improve upon verbal, will do better.

Other members plz share scores.

KAPLAN CAT 1 - 720(Q53,V33)
KAPLAN CAT 2 - 700(Q52,V32)

Though my quant is consistent, i find KAPLAN verbal a bit tough.. I dont know whether these scores are representative of the actual score or not

I don't think any of the CAT tests available through either Kaplan or Manhattan is a representative of score..
Best one as has been accepted is Powerprep.
By the way what are your opinions about the Kaplan's Quants section I found it easy...as on all the three kaplan's tests I completed the quants section 6-7 mints before but when I took the Powerprep, I was short of time in Quants :( which yielded in poor score.

I havent taken any of the Powerprep tests yet so cant say anything about them . Wel, Kaplan quants is ok i guess.. not very tough. I am practising OG and Kaplan. In both, I find the quant easy.
will have to try the powerprep now.. are the powerprep tests adaptive?

Re: Compare Kaplan Online test score [#permalink]
well if you are done with OG 12's DS ...then its good...
Actually the last 30-40 Questions in DS of OG 12 are really good...think those are of the harder level questions...
If you find urself confident in quants then u can do DS of OG, only the later half.

Guys in verbal my overall score everytime is bad and hangs around 31-33, but the problem is that sometimes I will screw my SC and sometimes RC (CR I think I have improved but unsure if some of the tests again surprise me)... if it would have been just one topic then I would have concentrated more on that but its not.
Suggestions please..

Powerprep tests are not adaptive and have overlaps with OG. Your scores can inflate. But still they can provide you better diagnostic results. Gmatprep are closest, but its better to keep them for later use for final evaluation.
Give powerprep tests and study each question type. Even if they are not adaptive ,the questions are official.

Hey Gurpreet!
I am confused between Powerprep and GMATPrep Tests...though both are the same.
The one which we download from mba.com is the GMATPrep right?

So where can I get the Powerprep tests?
Are they also free??
