iPad 2

According to the rumor mill, the iPad 2 will have the same resolution as the original iPad (no retina display) but with a better processor and a little more RAM. (512 MB)

If this is true, then the iPad 2 will be a little underwhelming to me. (It sounds more like a refresh than a new innovative product that I was hoping for)

I really want a tablet but the ones currently out there (including the original iPad) are not worth it for me. Most of them have phone apps and are just bigger phones(sans camera and phone capabilities with the iPad). The tablet space is growing fast but we are still in the infant stages of the tablet design. The tablet iOS, for instance, is just a bigger iPod/iPhone version. Do I really want to deal with just a slab of icons without real multi-task capabilities?

Hopefully Google's Honeycomb won't disappoint but we are still about a half-a-year to a year before developers can fully make that into a stable star.

Steve Jobs is still sick so I don't believe he will be hosting the event. It will be very interesting to see if his replacement can show the same charisma and persuasion as Jobs did with every Apple product launch.

Usually Apple charges a premium for its products so this would need to be a great device spec-wise to convince me to buy one. (including better pixel density) I mean, you can make the viewing angles better but the iPad is mainly an individual device so why would I need better viewing angles? Hopefully, everyone is wrong but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
