The decision deadline for R1 was Dec 20, with first acceptance sent out on 12/8 and first ding on 12/9 (based on gmat club kellogg roll call).

Going by the above, we should expect to hear during the week of March 14th.

Some people say March 7th, some say March 14th...

Wow that's soon.....how many weeks before the decision deadline did they start making calls in R1?

I had my telephonic interview with adcom after an initial waiver.
1. It is most probably blind. Mine was. My interviewer told me so at the start.
2. No Skype. They will call you on your number.
3. 30 minutes sharp. My interviewer was very particular about time. 30 minutes for her questions. 10 minutes for mine.

Obviously telephonic/face2face have their own pros/cons. My 2 cents:
1. Voice modulation is critical. Make sure you don't drone.
2. Keep it concise.
3. Stand during the interview. It makes you alert.

My interviewer asked very standard questions. Apart from one instance where I could make her laugh, her voice remained very flat throughout the 30 minutes.

Hey arshankar,

thnx a lot for sharing your inputs. It will help me in preparing my responses.

Re: Calling all Kellogg Fall 2011 Applicants! [#permalink]
Hi everyone -- quick question, and sorry if it was answered in previous posts...

I had my interview on campus with adcom yesterday. My interviewer, an admissions officer, gave me her card as we wrapped it up. Later in the day, I glanced at it, only to notice that her email wasn't included. Instead, the card only had a general admissions email address.

I'd really like to send a thank you note (naturally, as this is standard protocol for interviews). It seems strange to send a personal note to such a general email address (which, I'd imagine, receives all different types of inquiries). Perhaps I'm reading into it too much, but does adcom not want us to send those types of follow-ups? Has anyone experienced the same situation?

Any insight is much appreciated.

Hi,

I received a card with the same generic e-mail address on it when I interviewed on campus. I debated what to do and eventually decided against trying to send a follow-up e-mail. I agree that sending a thank you e-mail to the generic address would probably go unnoticed, and perhaps the general address is to avoid a deluge of e-mails. With most of the other universities, I got interviewed by a student or alum, so those people are unlikely to receive a large volume of e-mail from applicants or e-mails of the nature of "why was my application denied?!", etc.

Why not send a handwritten note instead?

Hi All,

I see a few people in this thread who have had their telephonic interviews with the Adcom. Cam someone publish the exact set of questions asked?? I have my interview on 11th March, and will hugely appreciate any help before that.

Just posted my R2 telephonic interview details on the ClearAdmit wiki.
https://clearadmit.com/wiki/index.php?ti ... gInterview
Posting it here again:

International applicant (in remote area)
1/20 - Interview waiver
2/1 - Interview invite
2/5 - Interview

Scheduling: I called Admissions to schedule a phone interview. They verified my contact details. Duration: Interviewer clearly said that the duration will be 30 minutes (int) + 10-15 mins (questions). She stuck to it.

Introduction.
    Walk me through your resume
Explain your job role. Who you manage. Who you report to.
    Short-term / long-term goals.
What is your most significant accomplishment?
What do you bring to the team that helps it/ hampers it? (Stumped!)
How has your leadership approach evolved?
    Biggest strength / weakness.
    Why MBA?
    Why Kellogg?
What extra-curricular activites will you be part of in Kellogg?
Anything else you would like to share.

Overall: Flat-toned interview. Very textbook-ish.
Result: Waiting

To those wondering, I just called adcomm - you can send quick updates w/ an updated resume if need be.

And they said this time admits will be day of or few days before formal deadline.
cheers

Wow that's way late. I figured we'd hear starting a week from today (Mar. 14). The formal deadline isn't until March 28. I have a hard time believing it will be that late.

I had my interview on Feb 3rd. My status has not changed from Part I/II-Submitted.
Correct me here but the status is supposed to change within 3-4 weeks . Should I bother to contact Adm. office?

Are you checking on the applyyourself website or the link from Kellogg's page (go to the kellogg's full time mba website and then at the bar on the right you'll see check app status - sorry, new member, can't post URLs)

The applyyourself site is basically useless to us at this point is what I gather, all updates will come from the link on Kellogg's site now
