IE vs HULT

Hey there!!! Great site!! I need some advice and some opinions.

I am 26, have a GMAT of 600, IELTS 7.5, a bachelors degree in Computer Engineering and 2 years of junior professional experience in IT. I got admitted to two programs:

a) IE Business School: Master in International Management (with Digital Business Specialization)
b) Hult International Business School: Master of Digital Marketing

I have a dilemma about which one I should chose. Here are my points:

1) IE is more well-reputed and recognised than Hult
2) IE is more selective and I didn't think that I had a chance to get in, whenI was applying
3) Hult is American and it will probably help me find a job in the US after graduating (which is what I want to do). IE might have a better European network.
4) Hult offers a more specialized and more specific to what I want to do, course.
5) Hult offers campus rotation (ability to study in San Francisco AND London, where Digital Marketing is growing)
6) Spain suffers from a big economic crisis (I am not sure that it does count for my choice)
7) I got a $6000 scholarship from Hult

So, Hult's master fits better to me... I think.

BUT...

Should I choose IE because of its reputation? On the other hand, Hult is growing soooo fast that it might be in the top30 in the next few years.

Any help? :-D

Hi there,

I have a similar profile to you. I have got 650 in GMAT and 8 in IELTS and 111 in TOEFL. I have confirmed my seat inside Hult due to the following reasons:

1) They are the pioneers of the Digital Marketing Program.
2) Campus rotation Program
3) It allows you to stay and work in the US for one additional year on OPT( Optional Practical Training Visa)
4) The faculty of Hult in the MDM Program is great in terms of their back ground. For example Mathew Woods has worked with Coca cola, CNN, ITV, NBC Universal. Erik Qualman ( the person who designed the video Hult MDM page) has worked with Cadilac, AT&T, yahoo etc.
5) Students could intern with companies like Microsoft, Yahoo, Sony BMG, youtube etc.
6) Plus London and San Francisco are the Hub for digital marketing so i dont think getting a job will be an issue.

Ok, you got a point. But what about Hult's placements. Any idea? Are you gonna study MDM @ Hult? Which campus?

Mavric provides good information and advice here. But both programs aren't the exact same, so this makes comparisons slightly more difficult. IE ranks as one of the top business schools in Europe and would give you access to that area (which is quite big). Plus, this program is less specific than Hult and probably gives you more options in terms of switching industries.

But it seems that Hult is more geared to your ambitions and interests, so this is a major reason to enroll there. And the partial scholarship is a nice bonus!
