Hi,
I am currently working on my last
MGMAT guide -5 (Geometry) and I don't see the formula or definition on Sphere/Cone/Hemisphere.
Usually when I solved the OG12 questions after working on
MGMAT guide theory and problem set, I didn't see any extra ordinariliy different question in OG12 which is not covered in
MGMAT guides..
I am going to find it in Maths foundation or might go thru the articles on 3D geometry here on GC. But that makes me think - are there other topics that might come in GMAT but not covered in
MGMAT guides?
Or is it covered in advanced section?
Thanks!!!
No bias; but I am sincere proponent of:
https://gmatclub.com/forum/gmat-math-book-87417.html for basics' brush-up. GMAT club members did a splendid job putting it all together. Rest everything is practice and getting acquainted with the patterns, shortcuts and approach to solving different types of problems.
MGMAT Geometry is not too comprehensive, I agree. Sphere, hemisphere, cones are definitely part of GMAT, which you may have noticed while solving the
OG sample questions.
I like
MGMAT's:
"
Equations, Inequalities, and VICs
Fractions, Decimals, and Percents
Number Properties
"
as a launch pad. Practice after that is what counts more.
These
MGMAT guides include almost everything that's required topic-wise. But sighting the concern you have raised, it's quite possible that they may have missed on few topics. It will be really tedious to pinpoint what's missing though. I wouldn't worry about those few missing topics because one will surely find out about those during his/her practice tests. So, just carry on and get done with your
MGMAT guides.
Unfortunately, the 3-D solids that you mentioned about are not described even in the OG12 Math Review section. What do you say to that!!!
Please see "Math Review" section of the
OG to get an idea what you must cover.
