Hi Alex,
would love a profile eval from you.
personals: 26, male, asian-american
GMAT: 700 (90%), Q49 (85%), V35 (74%), 5.0 (verbal too low? retake?)
Undergraduate: UCSD, Management Science (Honors with Highest Distinction), GPA 3.5 (Major 4.0) (does adcom care about major gpa?)
Work Exp: Have 5 years of working experience.
2 years in recruitment (sales/business dev) focusing on hiring executive teams for startups
2 years in silicon valley startup (sales/business dev), early employee, helped build business unit from 0MM to 20MM annually, hired/managed team of 4 employees
1 year as founder/entrepreneur of company started overseas in HK (failed startup/does that look bad to adcom?)
EC: (lots in college) founding member of UCSD chapter of fraternity, sports (lacrosse), after-school mentoring/tutoring of underprivileged students, church
(present: not so much any more) entrepreneur community (mainly, lots of time spent here), fraternity alumni functions (when they happen), church
recs: don't have a current supervisor so asking previous supers for recs. (will have to explain this situation for some schools that require current supers recs)
Target Schools all hopefully R1: INSEAD, Columbia, Wharton, Stanford, Haas
Looking at schools with good entrepreneurship programs as well as a strong international focus. I can highlight the fact that I have started my own company (overseas) and want to continue as entrepreneur or working in startups after MBA, particularly for companies in Asia.
thanks!
