Does anybody know if your application status should automatically go to complete after your interviewer submits the feedback? Or does someone from adcom have to change it? Thinking it's the latter because my interviewer submitted over the weekend, but nothing has changed yet.

Believe your status is only updated once the adcom receives the interview report, not when your interviewer submits it. At least, that's how it went for me, timing wise. My interviewer submitted his report on Sunday morning, but I only received the "complete" notification on Monday afternoon. (I'm also 12 hrs ahead of EST, so take it with a pinch of salt :P )

Will we see any action from adcom today? Ive been startled every time my phone rings for almost 4 weeks that now I'm kinda numb to it.

I can't remember... I think when they submit you get a note saying that they've received it.. but I could be mistaken that with Tuck !

Anyway, cutting my 6K deposit check today... the start of my debt is underway!

good luck. It is a wise idea for me not to care it too much. Otherwise it will be a painful process.

Re: Columbia 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
Can any current or past CBS students explain what the Online Pre-MBA Program consists of? It says this may take up to 40hrs to complete and that you have 2 attempts to pass a series of assessments! (or else what?)

I came across this in the admitted students website, but it only provides a very brief overview. So how time consuming and difficult is this stuff really? Especially for someone like me that doesn't have a finance background. 40hrs is quite a big chunk of time.

Hello, been stalking this forum for the past couple weeks and figured I would introduce myself. Applied ED and went complete about a week ago. Best of luck to everyone waiting to hear back, it is definitely agonizing.

Lol! I'm reconsidering my plan to quit my job in the Spring and take a trip around the world.

I think the money I'd save (and the money I'd gain by working an extra few months) would be better spent on rent! :)

Re: Columbia 2012 - Calling All Applicants [#permalink]
going to try and do some volunteer work abroad w/ my company should i get elected in the spring but otherwise i plan to work until first week of august (relocate to nyc in july though and work remote). regarding the pre-mba... from what i've read and understand it's not rocket science.... there's a quote somewhere of "someone always fails and doesn't get admitted cause they put it off until last second". Personally, once it becomes available I'll just knock it out over 2-3 weeks like if I was prepping for GMAT and be done with it... why waste time.

I was just invited to the Diversity Conference, looking forward to going on the 29th of October. Anyone else going?

I just got my invitation to the Welcome Reception on Dec 5th and Columbia Connect I & II on Feb 10th and April 20th.

Any admits planning to attend these? And any info on what to expect at these events?

I went to Spotlight On: Diversity so I didn't apply to Diversity Connect. Johnson's diversity weekend is at the same time and I'm planning to be there (if I'm accepted). Let us know how it is! Hey they may have an admissions decision for you when you get there!

I went to CCI and it was a total blast. They let us in the normal CBS Happy Hour on Thursday night, then had a full day of programming planned for us Friday. In addition to the planned events, they also gave us ample "mingle time" just to chit-chat and get to know our fellow admitted students. A lot of the guys and gals I met that weekend are some of my closest CBS pals today. It also serves as a great way to get to know people pre-matriculation for planning student-initiated events like the pre-MBA World Tour and impromptu admit happy hours.

I would have gone to CCII as well, but it was very close to my wedding and simply didn't work out. Regardless, I was super psyched to start school after CCI -- I simply had an amazing time. Let me know if you have any other specific questions on Columbia Connect.
