Hello,
I am applying to part-time MBA programs, hoping to start next fall. While I would love to go full-time, the opportunity cost is too high considering I am married and am the sole income provider. Instead I am hoping to attend a top university going part-time to enhance my career. I have 6 years of progressing experience in ecommerce, retail, CPG. My dream school would be Kellogg.
Age: 29
Undergrad: Chemical engineering at small private STEM school in Northeast
GPA: 3.1 (bad GPA freshman year, upward progression after 1st year)
Work: 6.5 years work experience, with clear progression in scope. Experience includes 4 years in retail/consumer goods, 2 years of ecommerce/retail at Amazon, and most recently started new position as a senior manager (ecommerce supply chain/operations/strategy) at a large CPG firm. Am currently hiring for direct reports, so will have direct management experience soon.
Goal: Stay within CPG, but move into Brand Management or Product Management. Longer term to move into a GM role over a business, consulting for CPG/Retail
GMAT: Just started studying so no official score yet. I took a prelim practice exam with zero prep and scored 620, so with some studying and prep it should be realistic for me score 680. Taking the exam next month.
Schools I'm interested in are below, listed in terms of preference.
Kellogg - Part Time (weekend)
Duke Weekend Exec MBA
UCLA FEMBA Flex
Booth Part Time (weekend)
Do I have a shot at any of these schools with my profile?
Appreciate the help.
Thanks!
Steve
