Hi all,
Today I took my GMAT and got a pathetic 570(Q 42, V 27). I did prepare quite well in the past two months(infrequently).
I had given my GRE three years back and had a score of 2100. I always thought that GMAT is also one such standardised test.
My practice scores are as below :
Powerprep 1 - 550 (before any preparation)
Princeton 1 & 2 - 640
Kap 1 - 530
Kap 2 - 590
Kap 3 - 560
Kap 4 - 550
Powerprep 2 - 730 (after preparing from
OG) .
My study material included
OG, Princeton and Kaplan. I had finished all the questions in the
OG. My hit rate was PS (90%), DS (75%), SC(70%), CR(80%) and RC(80%).
I did go thru all the questions which were done wrong in the first go.
Some how on the test day, I was quite tense. One of the reasons was that many of my friends were aware that I had a test. Pressure really mounted on me. Essays were pretty simple. In fact I like writing essays.
Quant section, first two were pretty easy. Third question was a pretty tough one, spent some 4 mins and could not get it. Narrowed down the choices and guessed and moved on. 4th was also pretty tough. Later on it was pretty steady. Got two questions on prob and one on combination.
Verbal, somehow...Got two RCs from 3-9. First one 85 line and second one 45 line. I some how thought that the questions were easy. You never know on verbal right???
Ok, after boring you all with the details. Here are my questions. I somehow believe that I am not the 570 type of guy. Please suggest me how to go about this now. I have already prepared from
OG, princeton and Kaplan. If I prepare again from these materials, it will be like I would know the answer before I look into the answer choices. Please suggest me the materials which would be handy. I am planning to take the test in around 45 days. Plan to start my preparation in a week's time from now.
Certainly looking forward to see all your valuable suggestions.
Oh man, I am feeling so low
