Let Jalal weigh 100 kg.

Then Meena = 50 kg, Bahar = 83.33 kg, Laila = 19 kg, Dolly = 9.5 kg

Therefore clearly Dolly is the lightest.

Let's assign weights that meet the given conditions.

Meena's weight is 60% of Bahar's weight
Let's let Bahar's weight = 100 kg
So, Meena's weight = 60 kg

Jalal weighs twice as much as Meena.
Since Meena weight 60 kg (see above) then Jalal's weight = 120 kg

Laila weighs 19% of Jala's weight
Jalal's weight = 120 kg
19% is very close to 20%
20% of 120 kg = 24 kg
So, 19% of 120 kg = a little less than 24 kg
So, Laila weighs a little less than 24 kg

NOTE: At this point, we can see that, Laila is the lightest (so far!)

Dolly weighs 50% of Laila's weight.
So, Dolly weighs LESS THAN Laila.
So, Dolly must weigh the least

Answer: D

Assigning one weight is a great choice, but which person should get the assigned weight?

List the values quickly, left to right (two columns)

J = 2M
M = .6B
D = .5L
L = .19J

Look at both columns.
Who seems to be greatest?
All the letters except J are explicitly less than someone else except B (who gives us little information).

And J shows up TWICE as weighing more than someone else.

Let J = 100 . . . Then
M = 50
B = 83
L = 19
D = 9.5

Dolly weighs the least.

We can let Meena’s weight be 60 lbs. So Jalal’s weight is 120 lbs and Bahar’s weight is 60/0.6 = 100 lbs. We can round 19% to 20%, so Laila is approximately 0.2 x 120 = 24 lbs and therefore, Dolly is approximately 0.5 x 24 = 12 lbs. Dolly weighs the least.

Answer: B
