Hi guys!
I would greatly appreciate your comments concerning my situation.
I am currently in my second year of a two-year MSc in Economics and Management at Humboltd, Berlin. Last year I became fascinated with finance and on a friend's advice applied to an MA of Internation Economics and Finance at Brandeis. The school rejected my application last year but this year it has revisited it and accepted me with a 75% scholarship...
Now, I really don't know what to do... I want to go into IB as I have done an internship at a PE boutique (nothing to write home about, really) but I really liked it as I saw direct application of what I fascinates me - company valuation, econometrics of financial markets (I have never studied math, actually
but I just fell for quant stuff!), M&A...
Do you think that accepting the offer and taking the loan, provided I'll be able to get it, will give me an edge at age 29 when I graduate to break into IB? Will I be viewed as overqualified (I'm also planning on taking the CFA), too old, and not fit?
The German job market does not look promising and I'm not sure if my visa will get renewed...
Thanks!
P.S. It sure has been a long time since my last visit here
I hope the people I had the pleasure of communicating with before have gotten into their dream schools!
A very Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all of you!
