Dont worry too much about the speed of one particular book/section. You want to complete most of your theory in 3 months and you want to retain as much of it as possible (do regular reviews, write your own notes in a notebook, etc).

You are fighting against the clock in your prep - your short term memory is only good for so long and if you stretch your prep past 4 months, you will have only about half of your time for learning new concepts - the other 50% will be dedicated to refreshing, reviewing, and retaining what you have learned in the past.

Good Luck!

Hi,

I started with giving a prep test to understand my initial level and devise a study plan.
Quant was my stronger area so once I completed the basics and kept solving the questions available in GMAT books or online.
For Verbal I went through the basics and started giving the tests. But I did keep some time aside in my preparation time in case I have to go through some topics again.
Certain nuances are forgotten after sometime so a little time is required to refresh on them.

Although you can be a little more through because I had a very limited time for preparation.

Good Luck!!

Another helpful tip that I received was to go through each and every question in the Test once you have completed it. It helps you to understand the logic behind them and you might learn useful tips to solve particular question.

@Taruna And BB,

Thanks a lot. It does help. I will be sticking to the basics and lets see how that turns out. I have decided to put in a few more hours every week which would be focused towards solving OG problems and if possible take up a few tests. I think this would do the trick.
