Hi
I am a Civil Engineer, working in the Commercial & Planning Department of a civil construction multinational, namely ITD CEMENTATION INDIA LTD as a planning engineer for past 2.6 years . I am a graduate from prestigious Delhi College of Engineering, with a score of 63.5%. By scores in Xth and XII standard are 82.7 % and 80.4 % respectively.
I am involved in budget planning, resource planning, activity scheduling, earned value analysis and tendering in the company. I handed 2 projects one of CONSTRUCTION OF JAIPUR METRO (~300 Crore) and PWD ELEVATED CORRIDOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECT (~ 500 Crore). I also worked with my father's Nokia's handset distribution business, looking after the entire procurement schedules, sales and accounting of the business.
I owned 2 web-startups of mine own too, namely Campus booth and Vision De Vivid, where I worked with a team of around 12 colleagues. But however I was not lucky with the things and ended the two, leading to team splits and some poor decision making.
Now I am looking for a career improvisation and learn strategy development and brand building and product;s brand establishment from ISB, Hyderabad. I gave 2 attempts at GMAT but was only able to score mere 650 at it ( V: 29 , Q : 50 , IR: 7, AWA : 6.5). After receiving such a poor score I gave up my hopes for ISB, but here I am in the last week of application submission and wondering should I apply for the same or not.
Kindly advice me should I apply this year only or wait for the next year. I am not able to identify what harm can be caused if apply this time and my application is rejected? though chances are higher of same ? Also kindly rate my profile and let me know should I apply for this year or not ?
I would say wait a year or two. Gain more work experience and redo the GMAT. These will make your profile stonger.
