Can anyone explain about B and E, why B is better than E?

In E, 'the country's economy...' might refer to some country other than Venezuela.

A President of Venezuela during the mid-1950s, the country’s economy flourished under Marcos Perez Jimenez.
B Venezuela’s economy flourished during the mid-1950s under President Marcos Perez Jimenez.
C Under Marcos Perez Jimenez, president of the country during the mid-1950s, Venezuela’s economy flourished.
D The country’s economy flourished under the president of Venezuela during the mid-1950s, Marcos Perez Jimenez.
E During the mid-1950s, the country’s economy flourished under Marcos Perez Jimenez, president of Venezuela.

B is both gramatically correct and stylistically compact, making it the best choice.

C is perfect from a grammar point of view, but is stylistically inferior to B. On the GMAT, when you have a choice between a clearly-expressed simply-written sentence and one that adds extra phrases or clauses, go with clear and simple every time.

E, similar to C, unnecessarily breaks up the ideas; accordingly, it's inferior. Putting "Venezuela" and "the country's economy" so far apart also weakens the structure.
