Presumptive Statements in Goals Essay? [#permalink] New post 19 Aug 2008, 20:04
Question, when writing your goals essays, is it frowned upon to be too presumptive? IE - "Following my Wharton MBA, I intend to..." Or is it better to not come off as cocky by saying "After attaining my MBA, I intend to..."? I prefer the former but don't want to sound too cocky or presumptive.

Thanks!

I have written mine in the form you first mentioned, "After earning my Duke MBA, I plan to..."

I think you are fine with either form.

Nothing wrong with writing your essays from the viewpoint that you WILL be accepted.
