Hello,

Thanks in advance for your evaluation, and the work that you do here.

GMAT: 700 (Q: 43, V: 42)
Leaning toward focusing on my applications rather than trying to bump up my score at this point. Do you advise a retake?

Education
- UG GPA: 3.2
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering
both degrees obtained at The University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

Work Experience
3 years at a small medical device company
- Experience ranged from technical engineering work, project management, clinical site support, marketing material creation
1+ years at a mid-to-large pharmaceutical company
- A purely technical role as a process engineer

MBA Goal
Would like to transition from engineering to marketing in the medical device industry. I am specifically interested in product management.

Extracurriculars
-Tutored 5th graders in math in 2009-2010
- Tutored high schoolers in biology in 2010-2011
- Freelance graphic design / branding work for several small websites and a restaurant
- Currently pitching an idea for a TV show
- Avid painter
- Learning Spanish with intent of fluency

Target Schools - Northwestern, Chicago, Michigan, Yale, UCLA, Duke

Stretch Schools - UPenn, MIT, Harvard

Do I have a reasonable shot at my target schools?

Thanks again!

Hi bgbtech,

With regards to your GMAT score, if you believe you can improve your score by 40+ points it may be worth considering taking the test again, however your score is competitive with your target programs.

Unfortunately there is not enough information for me to give a strong evaluation for your candidacy, although two questions an admissions team will focus on are:

1. Why are you pursuing an MBA program? (Having already received a masters degree). Be prepared to have a strong answer for this question.
2. Evidence of leadership and impact at the company's you have worked for

If you'd like, you can sign up for a free 30 minute consultation where we can provide more insight into your target schools and application:

Hope this was of help.

Cheers,
