Hi,
Was hoping that you could take a look at my profile and targets and let me know what you think. Thanks!
GMAT: 720 / 6.0
Education: Small liberal arts (NESCAC), 3.4 GPA, Economics major / business minor
Work Experience: 2.5 years management consulting (parthenon / monitor / LEK tier firm)
Extracurriculars:
- Started a successful laundry pickup & delivery service in college that generated $50K+ in revenue per semester. Featured in a number of local / state newspaper articles. Won an entrepreneurship grant from a state foundation. Sold after graduation and is still running today.
- Started a non-profit to provide pro-bono consulting services to small business owners (e.g. local corner stores, restaurants, etc.). Over 60 volunteers from top consulting/IB firms. Partnered with the turnaround group at a regional bank to help their struggling clients.
Other: Several "quirky" type things.
- Leader of the world's #1 team at an online video game as a 12 year old.
- Semi-professional poker player in college ($100K+ profit).
Target Schools: HBS / MIT
You have a competitive profile for both schools, but you can't count on either one. They are both tough. On the other hand, if those are your top choices, you can also apply just to these two and if rejected apply more broadly next year or the year after.
Best,
Linda
