I really wouldn't concern myself with the GPA--3+ in engineering needs no apology and indicating you worked during school on your resume should be enough to assuage their concerns if any. Plus your GMAT, again will innoculate suspicion that you can't handle the curriculum in business school. Oh, and yes, being Indo-Canadian can help differentiate you especially from the large number of Indian only applicants. :)
