Hi Everyone!
I am looking to see if I am targeting the correct schools given my profile. I'm honestly confused since I seem to have a mix of great/not-so-great pieces.

Age: 25 years when entering

Nationality: Indian-American female (US Citizen)

GMAT: 710 (Q45, V42)

Work Experience: 4 years of finance at top 5 technology company (hires lots of MBA grads)

Extracurricular - Post college: Board of Directors of two non-profits

Extracurricular - College: president of a club, internship at the technology division of a big bank, biochemistry research, teaching assistant for multiple courses, etc.

Degrees/GPA: Undergrad degree in biochemistry with 3.8 GPA, Masters in finance with 3.8 GPA from top 40 university (not ivy league but one of the "new ivies")

Recommenders: both went to ivy league undergrads with one to Wharton

Career goal: product manager at tech company

Target list of schools: Columbia, Berkeley, Wharton, Stanford, Chicago

Thanks!

Your profile is strong and with the exception of Stanford, you should have a good chance elsewhere assuming your application is done really well. The GMAT won't be your friend but with your GPA and work experience, it will not keep you out.

Those are the right set of schools and if you want to discuss how I can help you get in, send me a note! Scott@personalmbacoach.com

Good luck

Thank you so much everyone!!! I hope you know what a great service you provide by evaluating chances.

I've decided to retake the GMAT before submitting for Round 2 applications :) Thanks again!
