Your GMAT score would be one of the main components that would affect your chances of admissions at target schools. Strong work accomplishments, extracurricular activities and uniqueness of your background will also play a factor. Thus, essays should highlight these if possible along with demonstrating fit with the target schools.
In your case, coming from a well-represented and competitive pool, so try to do as well as you can with the GMAT. You can use it as a general guide for selecting schools to consider. Target schools with average GMAT scores that are 30 points below your score if you want to have a better chance, while continuing to look for ways to play up other aspects of your profile.
