Profile Evaluation

Hi guys, I was hoping you could evaluate my profile if you have the time.
I am currently working in an S&T rotational program for a top energy firm, but am not really sure if trading is where I want too stay, therefore I am strongly considering taking an MBA as a career transition. Does anyone have any thoughts on how competitive this experience may be viewed by a top MBA program? The rotation program is 3 years long doing 3 separate trading support roles consisting of: risk mgt, scheduling, analytics, bus development, fundamental analysis, or something similar. I am willing to stay on after I complete my last rotation to gain additional experience in either a trading or marketing role, but do not necessarily see it as a viable long term option.
I am also very seriously considering joining a non-profit such as Peace Corps, or Teaching for America when I finish my current program instead of staying with the firm, but only if my girlfriend and I are approved together.
I have a 3.5 GPA from a non-target with a major in accounting. I volunteer regularly at a local nonprofit, but not in a leadership or management role. I am under the assumption that I will be able to get strong recommendations from both the non profit organization as well as my employer. Additionally I play/teach music in my spare time, and enjoy sports (though I am no serious athlete).
I am yet to write the GMAT and am obviously hoping for a 700 minimum. The plan is to study as long as it takes to achieve this.
My goals for taking an MBA would be to transition into MC, tech, or VC (longshot) .
Target schools would be Stanford, MIT, and perhaps Berklee, but I would consider Harvard or Wharton due to their immense presence across the globe in nearly all industries. Post MBA I would prefer to work on the west coast.
I realize that I am posting a rather incomplete profile considering I have yet to take my GMAT, and am on the fence about a more serious volunteer role, but please feel free to share your opinion.
Thanks.
Good luck to everyone on there GMAT/apps
