Program: MAcc
Applying to Alabama, Virginia Tech, NC State
GMAT: 570, GPA: 3.75

I want to get into the best school I possibly can, but I can't completely strike out. Are these schools that are do-able with my profile? If not, what schools in the SE should I look at?

Well I've gotten into Tech and NC State - along with Ole Miss. I'm still waiting to hear from Bama (who told me it would be a couple of weeks) and Florida State.

I don't really have preference of where I end up location wise and would like to get into forensic accounting where ever I go. I'm not sure which will work best for me. I will have to move to any of these schools but will get in-state tuition at NC State. Ole Miss' OOS tuition is less than State's in-state.

I go to FSU for undergrad. You'll definitely get in the Macc program there. Its a really good program too.

I go to Georgia Tech and got in to Georgia State but am waiting to hear back from UGA. Is Alabama's program good?

Now that I've gotten in it's much better! Just kidding - they're consistently ranked in the top 20 programs in the nation and have been for a long time. My dad went there in the 1970s and said they were top 5; he tends to exaggerate though.

I'm supposed to hear from FSU soon - they said my file went into review or something like that, so I guess I'll find everything out soon. NCSU requires you to say yea or nay by Friday, and I'm a little nervous about picking which school to go to. Alabama's where I've always wanted to go and where I want to live, but the OOS is $9k more than State.
