Generally, I recommend people do not double dip at their UG alma mater for b-school. Think about it--you already have access to the Columbia network of alumni, so going somewhere else could effectively double your network or more depending on where you go. I think you have a good shot at these top schools mostly based on your unique background and under-represented minority status with top credentials. Interesting that your verbal was lower even though you would be considered a "poet" by your education, but not to worry, schools are generally more interested in your math abilities than your verbal abilities in my experience. Your work history will grab their attention and the fact your post MBA vision ties into your past will help. Be passionate and I am sure a well written application will compel them to invite you for interviews, where you will have your shot at the "bigs"
