School wish list: EWMBA Haas (I would also consider the best possible part-time MBA that I could gain entry to: if you could also please help with me possible top-tier schools that I may be suitable for)

Age: 37
Current Occupation: Financial Analyst with global bank
GPA: 2.7 from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Major: Business/Finance (admittedly did not apply myself)

GMAT: 690
Accreditations: CFA Charterholder

Misc Information: Ex-collegiate baseball player, drafted by 2 different professional baseball teams (should I even mention this??)
Mentor for young adult (19 years old) with Fresno Economic Development Commission
Enjoy baseball, basketball, tennis, meditating (should I mention this as well?), reading, insatiable appetite for knowledge.

I would like to earn my MBA to help propel my career into upper management within my banking institution. The MBA, I'm hoping, will provide me with the necessary tools and skill-set with which to draw upon to successfully vault my career to oneday become CEO of a financial institution.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Casey you are an ideal EMBA candidate. EMBA programs like 10+ years of experience, with a strong leadership component. I am sure if you have CEO aspirations, you have many direct reports, budgetary responsibility, territorial responsibility, etc. so, these kinds of things are what impress an EBMA program. If you can articulate what you bring to the table that will be valuable to other similarly-experienced managers, you should have no problem getting in. As for the baseball, great to mention. Since it was so long ago, you might not want to focus on it,but the adcoms like to know what shaped you and what made you who you are--sounds like that was an impactful part of your background. As for picking schools, since you want to rise in your own company, ask upper mgt which programs they like or think highly of. Also see if there is a concentration of upper mgt. folks who hail from a particular school. Otherwise, look at welll ranked programs in the region of your targeted long term employment. For example, if you want to work for Bof A, look at Duke, UNC, Virginia, Emory or Georgia Tech for EMBA.
