I am planning to apply to Vanderbilt, Emory, Kellogg, and Harvard. For the first two I am hoping for good scholarhips and the the last two I realize I'm probably a long shot.
1) Could you evaluate my chances at these schools? I'm open to suggestions for other schools also.
2) Is there any information available on scholarships? ie. what i can expect at different schools given gmat (I assume most schools base scholarships primarily on gmat.)
Thanks for your help!
c00624,
I think you're in at Vanderbilt and Emory, but a definite longshot at HBS primarily because, while strong, your profile is neither 'superhuman' nor unusual enough to pull their trigger. You have a chance at Kellogg but I think you should do what you can to get more leadership & impact opportunities at work and you should definitely take your community work to the next level: i.e., find a true leadership (people- or organization-directing) role. Doing this will satisfy Kellogg's lust for community involvement while also compensating for lack of direct managerial roles at work.
Other schools to consider given your finance goals might include Chicago, NYU, MIT, UCLA, Duke, and Michigan.
I wish I had the scholarship info you're looking for but I don't. If any GMATClubbers know of a site that consolidates this kind of info please let us know.
