Profile details:
Israeli male, age 28
BSc. Computer Engineering from the Technion (considered very prestigious and difficult here, not sure what's the reputation in the US). 80/100 average, pretty good for this degree but not great.
GMAT: 760 (49Q, 45V)
Work experience (mostly in the army, this was after I completed the degree so it's relevant):
3 yrs as software engineer
1 yr as team leader
1 yr as technical lead
Extracurricular:
Probably my weakest spot, nothing really outstanding. I do however know multiple languages (4, and it's not a very common mix as well) and traveled to quite a lot of countries including a couple of exotic ones - is that even worth mentioning in the essays or is it standard/irrelevant?
Would having relevant job experience from the army count for or against me? Also, should I include reference to volunteering activities in which I took part during the service but weren't organized by me?
I'm looking for top-20 schools, preferably with a quant analysis concentration, also have some interest in behavioral economics. Currently thinking about Booth,MIT,NYU and Duke. Maybe Berkeley and UCLA as well. How would you rate my chances there if I apply in the first round?
Thank you,
Alex
