Dear Veritas Prep,

Please help me evaluate my profile and choose the schools I should apply to. I'm planning to apply for Round 2 admissions in January 2017.

Background: Indian Male aged 25

GMAT: 740

Education:
PESIT, Bangalore.
B.E. specializing in Computer Science (from 2009-2013).
Scored 71.1% -> First Class With Distinction

Experience:
Adobe Systems, Bangalore (2013-Present)
Software Development Engineer 2

Volunteer Activities:
Volunteered at Spastics Society Of India

Additional:
Started a small startup in college (2012)
Extensive traveler - Traveled to 19 countries so far

Target Schools:
Any top school should do, including international schools. The current list I had in mind was: Stanford, MIT Sloan, INSEAD, Cambridge, National University of Singapore, HKUST
I would prefer a 1 year course over a 2 year course.

Thanks for sharing.

Your academic capabilities look strong, how you present your career progression, including responsibilities, accomplishments, and challenges would be essential in showing your potential.

You may also use failures/weaknesses to show self-awareness, how you have grown, or why you need an MBA from your target programs. Showing the fit with the program and your career goals will be essential.

I'll definitely keep it in mind when writing my application.

Do you think I can target the schools I listed (Stanford, MIT Sloan, INSEAD, Cambridge, National University of Singapore, HKUST) with my profile?

As you are aware, the programs you have listed vary in acceptance rates, so this is a good mix to have. As long as you are aware and manage your own expectations especially with regards to chances at the top programs, you should be okay.

Tailoring your applications to each school should also optimize your chances.
