simplygood,
Though you are still quite early in your career, you have a good profile in the works. The only real long-shot on your list is Tuck. You should be competitive at Emory and Kelly, and I think you will be more than competitive at: NUS, Simon, Babson, Katz, Illinois-Urbana Champaign, Fisher, WP Carey, Tippie, TAMU. In fact, I would consider many of these to be safety schools for you. Your "negatives" are your demographic (male, Indian) and your youth. If your profile continues in its current path, you will be able to aim higher.
Good luck, Hello Paul,
Thank you for your time and response. I appreciate the "negatives" pointed out by you. I realize the fact that I am at a relatively early stage in my professional career, but there is hardly anything I can do about that. Also the fact that I am an Indian can not be done much about. I respect the competition at TUCK, but I have very high regards for this school and its culture. Could you suggest a few indicators which are closely judged by the Adcom at TUCK. What characteristics of applicants do they give most emphasis to. Can these characteristics be developed to a certain extent, in the course of a few months?
When you say that you would consider many from: NUS, Simon, Babson, Katz, Illinois-Urbana Champaign, Fisher, WP Carey, Tippie, TAMU to be a safety which schools are you actually talking about? I ask this because these schools are pretty different from one another in terms of their location, average statistics and intake capacity. So which among them can really be called a safety?
I have been reading about b-schools getting relatively younger (in terms of avg age of students). Considering this, do you see schools such as TUCK accepting more number of younger applicants in the 2010 intake? Would that mitigate the downside of "youth" to a certain extent?
Waiting for your response.
Thanks again,
simplygood.
