Hi there,

It's great that you are planning ahead while still in school. Your research projects and internships will demonstrate that you are dedicated to your interest in finance and support that you have strong quantitative skills. One of your biggest variables at this time is your GMAT, so I encourage you to prepare for it and take it soon if possible; or at least take a full length practice test soon so that you have a better feel for where you are at. A 740 is among the highest scores that test-takers receive; certainly if you scored in that range your chances would be good at the schools you mention, as long as you support that with strong application essays about your goals and why you are interested in that program. Wishing you all the best!

If you are targeting PhD Finance, you need to get a Masters degree first: it can be MBA/MFE or even try your hand at ISB Analytical Finance. ISB-CAF has placed people in Top 10 PhD Finance. Extra-curricular are good as a hobby and for fitness. However its importance is overstated in Indian Engg colleges. Try to get as high a GPA as possible and as high a GMAT as possible.
