Another mistake in the question is that question mentions Yeast reproduces by dividig every 2 mins. However the explanation says that 4 in 4 mins and 8 in 8 mins. It should be 8 in 6 mins.

Pls post the OA for this.

First off, I think this Q's a bit ambigous!

Problem w/the Q is that it makes us assume "cell divides every 2 mins" as "doubles every 2mins". But the 2nd sentence is saying time and # cells have the "same ratio" meaning #cells double as the time doubles.. note that it says "eight after eight mins" and not "eight after six mins"
With this reasoning I would pick C 30mins

But if we assume "divides every 2mins" then at t-2 the #cells is half. t-2=60-2=58
time(previous+2), #cells (previous*2)
0, 1
2, 2
4, 4
6, 8 (eight after six mins)
8, 16 (sixteen after eight mins)
...

One thing is for sure: vat dimensions are a noise!
