How many 1 3/4 foot pieces of cable can be cut out of a piece that is 30 feet long?

a.10
b.16
c.17
d.18
e. 20

Pretty Simple..the answer is choice (c) 17.
All that one has to do is :

1: Convert 1 3/4 into an improper fraction (7/4) or a decimal (1.75)
2: Divide 30 by 7/4 (or 1.75)
