Hello,
I've recently joined gmatclub in my quest to apply on a B-School.I want to know if not having completed my Bachelor's Degree;i have still 5 courses left out of 117,is going to be a major set back in my applications. My university degree is a B.S & M.Sc Enviromental & Agricultural Engineering (Agricultural University of Athens,Greece) and im counting on passing these last 5 courses in January. But since i'm planning to attend a B-School by the September of 2013,i'll have to send applications with my current status.
In addition,in order to have a wider perspective of me,i'm 28yo,been working for 10years in my family's import wholesail company, basically running it myself,as well as a real estate agent.I haven't yet taken the GMAT,i'm currenlty studing for it;i will take it by the 20th of December, and start the application process then.I'm planning on sending 5 recommendation letters;2 coming from University's Professors,1 from the enterprise in Switzerland which we represent here in Greece,1 from the owner of the real estate agency i used to work and the last from the Mayor of my Municipality, where i was doing volunteer work for 2 years.
On another notice,i want to add that i'm not 100% sure whether i'm planning to persue an MBA diploma or a MSc. in Management/Finance etc, even though i believe that cause of my work experience,an MBA diploma MIGHT accept me easier, and in addition i'm really fond of the case method way of learning.I've searched for potential Degrees and im considering some.I'm not planning to apply on a top Business School of course, but for sure to decent ones, mainly in Spain,Switzerland,France and secondly in USA.
I realize that not having my 1st Degree during a 10 year period is a huge disadvantage but i had to work.Furthermore,as i've mentioned,i've had the misfortune of entering a University with 117 mandatory courses.
I'll appreciate every feedback and possible tips you have to offer.
Thanks
