just a quick question: How diverse is a Indian/female/manufacturing profile ?? (say, in comparison to an Indian IT male profile).....with a GMAT of 720 and GPA of 7.96/10 ?
Hello,
The said aspect needs to be evaluated in isolation.
Two points
1) Female : Being female does help, but I would say this does not necessarily give you a CRYSTAL edge over may be another equally qualified candidate, but yes this might help a bit.
2) Indian manufacturing : The general perception with the Indian talent (especially IT services or manufacturing or research based jobs) is that such jobs do not probably offer an active opportunity to lead at workplace (it has nothing to do with the individual, but probably the jobs are of such kind).
So, adcoms do not carry a bias for applicants with technical or engineering background. You can be in IT or Manufacturing, What matters the most is that WHAT makes YOU different FROM the rest of the pool. If there are 100 programmers or coders, how are you gonna prove that you are better than the other 99.
With whatever limited experience i have in reviewing essays, I have seen that students with technical skills fail to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pool. Top schools want smartest people out of smarter lot, so you ought to prove how you are BEST among all who are applying this year with similar background to yours.
Hope this helps.
